NJC Sports meet --> OG outing for lunch --> talentime with OG !

yay sports day was fun!
got third for 100m individuals, it was freaking close! almost got 4th.
got third for 4x400m too! another close race !
went to bishan for mac and walked around cum slacking before going home to prepare for talentime!
only very few performances were nice, my junior got first for individual singing!
everyone was like cheering for her. awesome!!

Talentime at njc ngee ann kongsi theatre. (make it sound nice only, actually its just LT5 hhaha)

4x400 team! shiya was freaking fast!!

And the worst thing is that, it's just the beginning.
If you think you're busy and you dont have time now, think bout april/may.
that's when the full blast of everything is released.
tests, examms, pw, cip project, season.

gotta get my mindset right.

never thought that being a CIP rep would be such a stressful role.

i thought i just need to organize cip for the class and guide them and such.
and now i've been told that we have to come up with a cip project, a long term project .
and we even have to come up with proposals, relfection and all.

oh please, since when am i the person to do proposals! ahhh!
guess this is god's lesson to me.

i'm going to have to learn a new skill.
and, manage my time as well.

tutorials exam papers proposal essays reading revising to be done during this short march holiday.

there're so many things to be done that i idont even know whereto start.
and, where do i find the time?
i'll be having a bball camp in njc boarding school from tues till sat!
i'd really love this camp, intensive training and bonding sessions with the team.

but i won't really be able to enjoy myself if i know that i have assignments yet to be done.
its just like a burden on you, a heavy rock preventing u from standing straight.
and from what i heard, the schedule will be like, morning training, afternoon friendly, night training. ( + supper yay).
so it'll be like this almost throughout the camp.
will be playing with jurong west, JURONG YAY, dunman sec, unity, nanyang and all.
but we'll be going to addidas boutique shop on wed --> all the latest addidas stuffs with a 40% discount for all HAHHAHA. omg we so need to bring a luggage there and a visa card HAHA.
mr sham will be treating us lunch too!!

staying in boarding school will def be another great experience for me!! looking forward a lot a lot.

will be playing hci this sunday, fajar sec this sat. kaixuan next next sunday.

Can't stand my father he's spending money like its falling from the sky wtf.
He scolded me because i wanted to have a sorta table lamp or light on my table because he thinks its redundant, and it'll cause an extra 30 bucks.
seriously?! 30 bucks is fine what, plus i really need it cause my i feel my room's light is not bright enough at night. its 30 bucks hello?! if we buy it outside it's gonna be more expensive?
and you know what, he went to buy some speaker and whatever shit stuff for the tv that costs few thousands of dollars, and do we really need it? no?!
the tv itself is fine already he go buy what some tall speakers wa seriously...
he also go buy what wine freezer which is of no use at all?!
they dont even put the wine or beer inside my mum go put fruits inside instead.
he spend so much, and he scold me because i wanted to add an extra light for studying which only costs 30 bucks. what logic is this ?
he's already spending dont know how much on decorating the whole house and its starting to get too much.
i know he wants us to have a good environment and bla bla, or does he just want to show off to people how nice he designs the house or how special is our house
its like before the renovation fully finished last time when people come my house he's like wanting us to show everybody the design of our house. like for what?! purposely want us to turn on the laptop and show people, not like people asked to see it.
everything he chooses he says its damn nice and only his.
everything we choose, or rather my mum, he doesnt think its nice and insults her taste and such.
the worse thing is that when he keeps asking us the house nice or not (because he designed it), we only can agree.

Have a lot of homework this weekend ):
think i'm gonna camp in the library or somewhere i can sit for a long time and complete them once and for all.
As i said i don't wanna pile up any homework if not i'll get even more stressed than i am now.
Study desk arrived today! yay i like cause its kindda long and very spacey!
i like big desks, i just do! haha. added an extra light for booster too but it seems unnecessary now hahhaa.
Wanna go cine to get a Lady Gaga poster and customize into a frame kinda thing and place on my wall! (But when? ): )

Hmmmm, i think i kinda like my class now!
They're really funny yet serious at the same time/right times!
and we're very bonded for a class for 1 week only cause during breaks we just sit together as a class in the canteen to eat, chat, play games like really everyone sit in a circle like that and just laugh and talk until whole canteen extension can hear LOL.!
and its like we're the only class you can see playing.
i'm kinda relieved cos' i expected a super-nerd-mugger-class but they're still willing to play monopoly deal with me! LOL.
and when i wanted to mug they asked me to play md hahaha.
but it's not that there're not muggers though, there are a few sitting beside doing work all the time.
actually i think maybe it's still like the beginning so they're not mugging but i can predict the mugging will come soon.
they're a damn smart bunch of people and yea i feel inferior seriously.
like they understand almost everything when im still huh ?

in addition ... i'm kinda fang gan to some guys now wth.
it's like if they treat me nice i'll totally get fang gan of him and want to stay away.
i dont even wanna have eye contact and if i do, it's like kinda mian qiang and those faster look away thing.
there's like this guy whom walked with me for the first day for the whole day cause we had mt in same class and all and i feel so freaking awkwarddddd.
like when i buy food he ask if want help me take when i want throw food he open the dustbin thing for me -_-
however something i won't deny is that i know i communicate better with guys .. somehow that's just my character and i bet it's the same for many girls out there too haha.

anyway i've read some self-help books last time and i remember one line very clearly.
it's not exactly what the book wrote but its something like " if you get irritated by something or someone, that thing you're irritated with is also some characteristics of yourself." in other words, you're like irritated with yourself - your own flaws.
and since then, i started observing and fellt that it's so freaking true.
that's for my own case la, not sure if it's true for others. you should start observing too!
for instance ... lets say i do things slowly, and i really get pissed if people does that.
or .. i'm really stubborn, and i hate it when people are like that.
so, people with the same negative characteristics cannot live together because they won't be able to communicate properly.
if one doesn't give in and expects other to, and the partner is also like that, it's hard to achieve a win-win situation.
negative aspects is like the one i just mentioned, not giving in.
however couples can be together if they have similar positive characteristics, like .. they're very generous people.
so they can go charity together, go volunteer together and all because they agree with one another.
and i can say almost all my character is inherited from my father, like my father's genes.
we both have a very insistent character, stubborn that is.
and when my father displays all these "flaws" that i actually have too, i REALLY and serioously hate him to the core, no joke.
i can really hate him a lot of times a day.
but when he's in his good mood, and let's say he talks bout doing volunteer and all, which is what i like to do too, then i'm so on his side and respect him kinda thing.
so ya.. that's my point, it's just what i feel, nothing proven haha.

anyway i feel like deactivating my FB :/ shld i ? but i'll feel so out of the social line .
BUT facebook is consuming so much of my time away, and i admit i have no discipline in this.
i still use facebook in school and all.
i use facebook when i'm bored. who doesn't.
soooooooooo, i'll give myself some time to consider!

4 more freaking days.

P.S. i don't mind receiving self-help books from everyone for my birthday cause i really like reading such books. Novels are fine too :D but of course i won't read yet haha.

Yeap, i've finally seen it.
A man's doing of something for his own self interest.
They'd do everything and anything as long as to get what they want.
Now i see it, it's your determination to get something you're trying hard to get, the challenge, and not the love.
They treat you like you're their everything when they're trying to win your heart, but treat you like trash when they get it.
It's like they paint a cover of themselves and unleash it thereafter.

If you don't give a damn, then neither do i.
Dream a dream that will never happen, and it'll become a nightmare.

School has been fine, or rather, hectic much.
I feel like a no life-er, going straight home after school if i don't have cca.
And i feel like joining interact club too, considering now!
So i guess from tomorrow onwards they're gonna start the real engine because the past 2 days, including today, have been introduction periods, and i got 2 gay teachers.
as in one is really 100% gay and its so obvious.
but he's damn funny! so i sorta like him. haha
my class's kinda fun too, i guess.
have a lot of sports people !
2 going to join basketball yay.
but i can also feel the tensed atmoshpere during lesson gosh.
and i feel jealous for not being smart ! haha
seriously its kinda obvious to know if someone's smart if someone's not, you can just see the time they take to analyse and understand concepts.
and im like always lagging behind when trying to understand stuff haha. people alr done and go on to the next question im still staring at the solution trying to digest the answers.
it's okay, since its my dream school hahhaha i'm gonna have to take on this challenge.
actually i feel that its okay if you do your work on time you won't feel too much stress and burden and load on you, like it you dont do your homework and it piles up till so much after some time and the teacher hunts you for the assignments you'll definitely stress yourself out, but i tried doing them on time and its actually fine!
maybe it's just the start .. maybe .... hahhaha

3rd day in my new hoome!!

the house totally felt like a hotel on the first day we moved in!!
i couldn't really sleep at night !
i'm kinda sad cause my room is kinda screwed up right now
the layout and all ..
but nvm! my room's fine haha
haven bought study desk and school's starting in a few days time!
results out tomorrow and i'll most probably end up in ngee ann IB haha
which means i dont have to turn up in school on thurs but anthea have to go nanyang if she gets in!!! hahhaha.
smart choice ^^

had breakfast at aunt's shop this morning with cous and he drove me to njc hahaha
audi a5's so cool and nice!!!
i wanna get audi car next time! my father's influence haha cause he only likes audi cars
if im rich enough i'll get open audi car hehhee

anyway had sort of full day training todayyyyy
individual training with anthea at 10
quite tiring cause 2 people only

but quite fun actually!
i like individual training cause i really need to improve on my individual skills like now like forever
hopefully there are more of such trainings if not i hope mr sham would train me 1 on 1 during breaks!
really really want to improve!
one improvement is that i can finally do proper left hand lay up and i no longer use my right hand to do left hand lay up! yay!
but still miss a lot! nvm!! hopefully by season i'll get used to it alr (:

had lunch and chatted for a while and went to fill in appeal form in the pe department and took 2 hours to shop for shoes!!!!!! hahhaa
finally ordered my running shoes cum schol shoes! very nice i like a lottt haha
went to watch boys match against bishan park and they won! yay they played well!
laughed a lot with anthea and sarah too hahahha omg laaaaaaaaaaaaa
i also watched for the first time a net ball game!
i'll keep the comments to myslef hahhaaha
went back schol for training at 5+
ran 10 x 400m again but this time it was so much better than the previoous time!!!

we get to run 2.30 min for the first 2 rounds and then gradually decrease the timing til 1.30 min for the last run. not baddddddd i made it around 1.34 min haaha
ran with the juniors and they were soooo high and singing spongebob sqaurepants and we were doing "kallang wave" while running! hahhaha funnnnnnn at least we dont feel as tired!

going queensway and vivo with anthea tomorrow to shop for school bag and school shoes!!!
excited much! haha i wana buy sports shoulder bag! or should i??! hmmmm i'll see if theere's any nice backpacks
most prob shopping for cny clothes with family in the evening too!

and i haven't watched season of the witch yoooooooo!

Changing to a whole new environment.

I'll be moving house tomorrow!!!!!!!
And i can say, from the bottom of my heart, that i'm not excited at all )))))))))))):
i've lived in this home for 15 years of my life already!
i really like the location of my current-soon-to-be-ex house.
it's super duper accessible!
if i were to name out every place i can go and things i can do (which i am going to :D), i think it'll become a long list!
my house's like full of boxes everywhere noww, that we can hardly walk around!
the boxes are freaking smelly also la..
but also good for me (this week) cause it also means that i need to sweep and mop lesser areas HAHHA.

went to new house yesterday for the whole day.
WAS very excited bout my curtain and wallpaper cause my mum said mine's very nice
but when i stepped into the room my face ji tao -_____________________-
crapp the wallpaper at there .. might as well don't put anything.
my wallpaper's white anyway, cause when i chose i kept thinking wait i study how i study how so i didn't want to choose any dark colours and white is the easiest to match with my purple curtainn.
totally DISLIKEEEEEEEEEEEEE my new room sigh.
kept complaining ytd :p and got kb-ed by my father big time that i totally ignored him please.
if it wasn't for the fact that it costs 400-500 bucks i would have tore the wallpaper down -.-
and i was on the verge of tears please LOLLLLLLLLL okay i know a bit over but .. that's really how i felt!!!! sigh .
on a brighter note, i like my curtainnnnnnnnnn. :/

i guess i'm gonna paint my room purple anddddddddddd buy a painting to put and photographs too. going back to ikea to get the .... put photographs one la.
i'm also going to zhuang a big white board above my table!
ANDDDDDDDD get a bean bag to put in my room!
on another brighter note, my room light is multifunctioned!
it has a bright light and also a sort of .. romantic light HAHA.
like if i'm going to bed can on that light, its kinda dim and orangey la.

shuo lai shuo qu, also my parents' room besttttttttttt .
their light has 7 functions and has a blue light. damnnnnnnnn romantic only.
liking my living room too!
for the first time it gives me a very cosy and relaxing feeling.
i can even lie on the floor and sleep hahhaha.
BAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! that's the best thing bout my new house.
i can bake for all i want in future! can ask friends to come and bake together too! ^^

it's totally like the room i went for facial last time!!!!!

the room looks so bali! haha.
the gym's running track and other machines have tv on it ! every one of it!!! omg.
the weightlifting thing min 4kg i think and it's already kinda heavy .... :/
the swimming pool's motivating me to learn swimming HAHA.
though there's only one bbq area, or 2, there's a full kitchen there also!
can cook, got refrigerator, and dining tables
the bbq thing also no need use charcoal already!

plus clementi mall just opened!!!!!!! so many food! SHIH LIN!

went down to aunt's/ah ma's shop to help out cause is shi wu today
after that went to watch BURLESQUE!!!!! at iluma bugis
omggggggggggg it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love the plot, love christina aguilera (she's god damn pretty i swear) and her voice is soooooooo powerful ....... when the movie ended the people in front were like "siao la her body so small the voice so loud"
they blasted the music and i loved it!
love most of the songs ! i've already downloaded most of the songs hehehehhe and the first song on my playlist is my favourite song!! it's called "Show me how you burlesque"
those who love dance and musical should definitely go catch the movie!

was supposed to go si ma lu to bai bai and dian you
i wanted to go before the movie but i estimated wrongly the duration of the bus ride i thought it would take less than an hour but in the end it took about 1 hour 30 min omgggg.
so walked to the temply after the movie at around 6.30 and its already closed!!!! damn it
have to go tomorrow ... or some other days already sigh

went to clementi mall for the first time and omg the b1 is totally food food foodddddddd!

i've so many movies i wanna watch ...
1) season of the witch (watching with baby on tues)
2) burlesque
3) just go with it
4) rabbit without ears
5) love and other drugs
6) black swan ( coming out this year but im not sure when)
7) hereafter
8) pirates of the carribean (coming out somewherre this year too)

i can forgo 4,5, & 7 but the rest is a must!!!!

so last friday watch "The Ghost Must Be Crazy" with my family.
i can only say jack neo's comedy is always the same .. like the way he likes to make us laugh never changes. that is, using hoarse languages and the way they speak.
all the jokes never changes, if not the style of the jokes never changes.
so i didn't really laugh much during the movie.
and i think it's very un-educational for youngsters to watch cause .. the way they act is just .. lowly. (is there even such word haha)
i felt the movie was kinda boring until the NG parts at the end which i really laughed out loud hahhaa.
so overall .. 2.5/5 i guess!

Volunteer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
had 2 volunteer activities this week.

1) Toss the ball @ St Luke elderly .... something last friday on 14/1
2) Home painting at kaki bukit yesterday 15/1

1) Toss the ball
went to St Luke elderly centre @ jurong east to interact with elderly with cy!
hanyun was there volunteering too! what a small world! hhaha
so at first we went there and was totally at a loss cause they were singing with the elderly already
so we just stand there and clap with them like clueless
until they sang you raise me up and i sang with them a lil LOL.
the rest was totally "huh?!"
after that played the toss the ball game with the elderly.
the day before i was joking with pearly saying " tomorrow im going to toss the ball with the elderly" causse that was the name of the activity and i didnlt know we will really toss the ball with them LOL i thought it was just a name ahhahhaa

okay so we sat down and bounced the balls diagonally to the elderly opposite us hahha.
it was kinda fun and funny cause the elderly were so cute!!!
some cant bounce properly and end up passing to me instead of the elderly beside me and even hit the elderly's face :p
me and cy laughed instantly HAHHAHA
but it's not that we're bad k cause the elderlys laughed too!!!
it was really heartwarming then, to see them smile and laugh so happily and freely (:
played another game with them before they had their lunch!
accompanied some elderly to the toilet, and chatted with them after that while they wait for their buses to send them home.
i was really helpless cause most of them speak hokkien or cantonese .. which i can't speak well at all, and i can't speak or understand cantonese
so i tried really hard to get them engaged in a conversation but failed though :/
while hanyun was really experienced! she herself could chat with the whole table of elderly when i can't even handle one :x
i really need to brush up on my hokkien!!!
it was a great experience and i hope i can go there again! (:

helped to paint an old woman's house!
she's really very kind and helpful and considerate for us!!
she knows we need to shift this and that then she kept helping us and asking if we need any help
then she even turned on the fan for us!
she's also quite cheerful! :D
helped to sweep the floor, wash the materials and wipe the floor too.
overall it was a job well done!!! the house was very white! hehehe.
and we were very efficient too cause we didn't overrun which the VL said they always overrun for this activity! yay a pad on our back! LOL.

there was also once when i was sweeping under the shen tai which was quite low if we stand up we will jsut hit our head.
so i was below that thing, the VL (shi ming) was telling me not to stand up. then after that i forgot what he said i thought he said "bu yong jing bu yong jing", and i can stand
so i tried to stand and ta da hit my head JUST after he told me not to stand up. LOL
everyone burst out laughing!! hahahhaa.

another one! i was sweeping the floor halfway and the house was kinda silent la no one was talking.
i was also thinking bout cy's sisters( i dont know why it was really random they just popped into my head HAHA), then i was thinking .. " i wonder if her parents wants another brother for them" THEN omg i just spoke out my thought la!!!
when everyone was doing their work i just popped this question out of nowhere .
" eh so your parentse dont want another brother?"
when i didn't even direct this question to anyone and everyone was like "huh?! why so random!?!??!?" and burst out laughing again LOL
omg i felt so retarded it was so freaking random la!!!!!! hahahhahha
then cy was like "you asking me ah?" LOL!

here's what shi ming said in the email :

even though they lost the match it's okay because they played well!

they had infinite fighting spirit ! :D

Celebrated grandma's birthday last sunday! 9/1/2011
my aunt's birthday falls on the same day too.
so happy birthday ah ma and mama!
went to west coast seafood restaurant for dinner.
and i think they ordered at least 10 dishes omg it just keep coming and coming LOL.

also had cousin gathering last week.
i had subway!!!!!!!!!
went for bowling and i scored my highest score of my life - 89 points. LOL!
its the best okay!! im so proud of myself haha!
i had 2 strikes and 1 spare that round.
but still have room for improvement of course cause my cous say the ball bounces when i release it. ops. i dont know how to make it not! LOL
it was my other aunt's birthday that day (my other mama haha! i have 3 mamas LOL)
eeboon was supposed to have dinner with them but we met them at marina square so my aunt decided to treat us all for dinner!! yay good food!
so we went to Waruku Jap Rest ! yummmmmmmmmmmmmm .

received my edusave scholarship last sat! hehe.
saw quite a lot of primary school mates including pheng boon, ming liang etc etc and jurong people like eng leng haha. noelle was sitting just beside me! we chatted for a while after receiving the cert.
got 400 bucks this year again, i wanna aim for 650 bucks next year !!!
but it's gonna be a tough challenge haha.
plus im not sure if jcs offer such things anymore cause i dont see jc people LOL.

pearly came to my house ytd to discuss bout the JAE thing!
she's damn hardworking she even ticked and highlighted courses in the book while i haven even read it LOL.
omg la i see all the words i alr sian diao
slacked around and went to fetch my brother and had char siew rice!
we love charsiew rice!! LOL.
da bao-ed for jj and he came over my house to slack also.
watched ai with me for a while also HAHHAHA then accompanied him for dinner!

so .. we received our o's' results last monday!
very very shocked yet elated at the same time too that i went up stage !
my face was literally burning and and i can really feel that my face turned red!
that's not all, the shockest thing was that i actually got an A2 for my english!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's really really, really really, unbelievable!
before that i was sitting on the floor worried shit bout my english grade cause it somehow determines whether i score well or badly overall.
and in my whole secondary school life i've never ever achieved even a B4!
since sec 1 to sec 4 i've been getting either C5 or C6, and during GE1 and 2 i got C6 too, i even failed the paper 2 in GE2.
so i guess ... it's either jss standard is too high or teachers anyhow mark haha.

and the weird thing is, i'm all motivated to learn and go to school now!
okay i know i shouldn't say this cause i'm afraid i'll regret as soon as school starts haha.

i'm just very very very happy that i can most prob get in njc! (:

Home maintenance at Bedok (long time ago!)

had cousin outing ytd!
went for bowling and then papa and mama treated us to waruku jap food!
it was my aunt's birthday yesterday!
we ordered so much that the waitress asked us if we wanted to cancel or change some orders HAHA
i think we just changed some but i edont think there was any diff
in the end the whole table was like filled with food until there was no space!
but if the udon bowl wasn't so big i think it'd save a lot of space
i took a pic of the bowl and the udon, but im lazy to upload it!
its like the udon and soup only filled ... 1/4 of the bowl? or 1/3 LOL

the ending of breakout was seriously .... omg
i hate shows where ppl die in the end
feels like i've wasted my time watching, watching people die -.-
if bad people die still okay .. but like almost all the main characters die

ooh but fortunately after that bbq i didn't get one.
made new friends again! (and found out more info ^^)
bused home with verena (their senior!) and chatted and stinked all the way!
i stinked till the next day i still can smell bbq smoke on me kay wth.

had match against jurong west in the morning and when i heard the news i was like :O

went back with andrea after that to jurong to play friendly with juniors!

had volunteer work at ACRES (some rescue animals organization)
wow the sun was scary and i sweated like free one haha
yay but another good experience! learnt a lot bout the animals
damn pitiful ah :/
i feel like going stayover there and go with the rescue team to rescue animals1!! (its only 10 bucks a night,breakfast provided!)

did the usual cleaning up of indoor area LOL but with something new too!!!

we had to remove the creepers from the fences if not the fences will be destroyed!
so yeap used our hands to remove all those creepers and damn it was tiring!
OOHOHH i bought a tshirt there too for 15 bucks!

it says "Speak up for animals!" and there's this huge the ... something phone one, like sports day they use to talk those haha and a monkey there! it's their logo la ! haha

13 cells with Michelle and her sis, Tiffany @ Eu Tong Sen Street!
had yum cha, and traditional deserts before that!
one word for the 13 cells, AWESOME!
is that like the word trend now? everybody's awesoming here and awesoming there since .. Red camp? haha!
so scratch that, it was SPECTACULAR!
at first it was freaking scary and we were like screaming and pulling each other's shirts
but towards the end we got friendly with the actors haha.
there were 13 cells, as mentioned by the name of the event, and they are real prison cells.
there place is an ex cid hq, and it's also known to be haunted, i guess? even my father says so.
so when we entered each cell the guide would slam the door shut and we had some missions to do, eg collecting light sticks, feeding the wolve and all.
don't wanna elaborate much because there's just too much to say!
i remember explaining everything to yongkai and i almost went breathless cause i went all high haha.
so if you wanna know more bout it, ask me personally!
today's the last day anyway, but it's good to know more!
maybe they'd organize the event again next year due to the positive feedbacks? who knows! haha.

sent my father off to china and asked mum to drop sis and i at bugis.
wandered around bugis, bused to town, walked around plaza sing, walked to 313 and had tao suan.
decided to look for jj and co, which i wasn't very close with, but still it's nice to make new friends.
so they were playing pool at marina square, afterwhich we walked, i mean squeezed all the way to some place behind the helix bridge (due to all the road blocks) to slack for a lil while and to catch the fireworks.
was admiring the fireworks all the way, it was simply beautiful! haha.
it's my first time watching fireworks right in front of my eyes, like from the source.
also my first time staying out past midnight with friends.
reached home only at 2 ?
still, i had a great time with them (:

this year, unlike the previous year, i don't really have much to say nor do i have any new year resolutions to make.
seriously i don't have anything in mind i want to accomplish or acquire.

okay a couple of wishes perhaps?
so let's see,
1) i really hope i can get into njc.
2) i wanna train well and get into nat top 4 with njc
3) i want to put studies at the top priority, and score well (sorry jj, but i think i've discussed this with you alr? haha)
4) stay in contact with my precious ones.

so last year wasn't very happening for me due to o level's cause i started chionging since school started haha.

but of course, i won't forget the season with my girls! (:
all those months have been carved deeply in my heart already,
and i'll definitely miss them dearly, ms chang too !

i really wanna go thru the season with them again! ahh im getting nostalgic already. haha.
really had a lot of fun and laughter with them, and of course there are the down periods.

YMCA Christmas Luncheon 22/12 (:
got lost at first cause i totally couldn't find the Peaceconnect centre
went to peninsula plaza there instead
when i reached there i felt so lost cause most of them were sp people, but they were friendly haha
so we went around looking for our beneficiery and when most people found theirs already, both of mine haven't even arrived yet!
in the end only one came
he's a damn nice guy i swear
chatted with him throughout the event and he's very friendly, very gentleman omg
even when i brought his food for him he stood up and receive it from me haha
and he kept pushing the log cake that was supposed to be for him to me
his face is also always full of smiles and laughter
oh and he told me countless "thank yous" ..
really, he kept thanking me.
and when i asked if he was happy, he said " GAO XING!" (:
really glad to have known him (:
he's a good example for an elderly, he exercises every morning, go sings karaoke regularly, and have a part time work.
he also cares a lot for others, when he sees that other people have no space to walk he quickly helps them push away the chairs.
and the best thing was, he even treated me to tao suan after the event (:

Volunteering rocks!

Everything begins with the first step!
so my first volunteer activity was with Chew Yen during the International Volunteer Day at Marina Barrage!
so i guess our role is the slackest of all cos when everyone was busy doing their job we were walking around marina barrage slacking and taking pictures hahahhaha.
our shift only starts at 6.30 until 8.30 muhahahhah
so we had to go the the marina bay station bus stop to check the care/vip pass for the guests for the event before they could board the bus.

still even the role was slack cause at about 8 there was lesser and lesser guests coming already so we chatted with the bus driver and all and take pictures HAHA.
went back to help give out extra goody bags to everyone (you could see some people having like 10 goody bags already LOL)

sat down with cy to listen to corrine may sing at night ~
love the atmosphere with all the light-kites and people sitting around us too
most importantly, all the guests had been volunteers or are soon-to-be volunteers
which explains their kind and caring nature because those people whom we talked to are all damn nice.

some strangers also came over to talk to us and introduced themselves and chatted

yesterday was my second volunteer activity with cy too! ^^
it was under sgcare - Home maintenance !
we travelled all the way to bedok (moral seniors activity centre kaki bukit) and helped to clean an elderly's home.
there were 3 homes we're suppposed to clean so we splitted into 3 groups
and guess what, me and cy was pulled into another group and we got the worse house among the 3 houses LOL
the volunteer leader told us about the history of this old man's house and before we even went in it felt like a nightmare already
but fortunately his house have been cleaned 2 times already and the last time was the previous month, so lucky us, we needn't clean a freakishly and ridiculously dirty house
this cute elderly man, he loves to go around the neighbourhood to collect things other people dont want. and when i said things, i mean ANYthing!
be it torchlights, batteries, umbrellas, wooden board, radios, bottles cups AND EVEN DOORS !?
he's a wheel-chair bound person, and before we even entered his house, we had to clear all the useless stuff on his wheelchair!

i think they took about half an hour to clear the stuffs, so can you imagine how long we need to clear his house?!!?
and because he has a stubborn nature, it's even tougher to convince him to throw away those stuffs!
he'll start saying what those things can be used for bla bla bla

but the thing is he keeps many of a single type of thing so obviously we can't let him keep all right!

so everyone was super shocked when we stepped into his house because his walls was so brownish like those shit brown

and it's really bedbugs poo or whatever it is
and all the trash was all over his house the first thing we did was clear those things
its a one room flat anyway, can't imagine if its a 3-4room flat

so when someone took up his mattress ............................
this is the most disgusting(or second most) sight ever!!!!!!!
the whole floor below the bed WAS FILLED WITH BED BUGS
POOLS OF BEDBUGS I MEAN
they said the previous time they went all the bed bugs started running out of the door and all the neighbours would start cursing and swearing at him cause those bugs would run into their houses
just imagine the floor with thousands of black/brown little bugs
with its eggs/shells/poo and i think most are dead anyway

so next we went to the kitchen to clear up
the baisin .....
totally lots of bottles and cups piled up anyhow
and the baisin is freaking dirty with the rust and all the ... black spots and i dont know .. decomposed food
ITS STINKS BTW.
and there was stench of dead lizard too fck
so i started putting aside all the cups and all and scrubbed the baisin (the side of the baisin actually)
AND FUCK IT I TOTALLY DIDNT REALIZE THERE WAS A DEAD LIZARD THERE UNTIL I WAS HALFWAY SCRUBBING
i totally freaked and screamed
oh and they said he keeps expired food and doesnt allow them to throw it
but when we were there ytd most food were quite new
we found another dead lizard on the floor anyway when we were mopping
the freezer on one of his refrigerator is just like a cave of ice
at first we tried to open it but couldn't and with much effort pulled it open
and found that everything inside is frozen with all the big ice

so they had to use hammer and sscrew to remove all the ice if not it will just melt and if the elderly open the water will just pour out
it took them 45 min can! so imagine how large the ice was

so in the end the entire house looks superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr clean and neat !
what a great sense of accomplishment !
it really feels great to have helped clean the house!
this type of feeling cant be described, you can only experience it if you are there!
SO QUICK BE A VOLUNTEER!
had lunch with all the volunteers after that and took 30 home with cy from bedok!
super long bus ride but chatted all the way with cy during the 1 hour bus ride! haha

went for volunteer orientation with jj in the evening at nvpc @ central!
the talk was very inspiring and im inspired to become a long term volunteer now!!
MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

so my next activity is YMCA christmas luncheon on the 22nd!
will be paired with 2 male elderly during the event
looking forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i still have lots to learn and a trainer said during your years of volunteerism you'll learn all the different life skills and make many friends (:

so.. my parents asked me to stay home and tutor my brother and all, and they'd give me money LOL.

had my first training on wednesday at njc! ( woo my dream jc )
ran 1.6km for warm up
and wthhhhhh first training defence drill
and wthhhhhh i've never had what full day training LOL
so we trained from 8-11, rest, sleep, monopoly deal , second training from 3-6.30
actually the trainings were considered slack compared to jurong trainings haha
just that i haven't trained for months so ya.... unfit yes i am .
and honestly i was half dead after the warm ups YES WARM UP CAN YOU BELIEVE IT
i was so freakishly dizzy and nauseous!
at the end of each trainings we did pulls up (yeap we did pull ups ! ^^ with a partner holding our legs HAHA! )

went back to school to ball yesterday!

just done a good deed ! (:
had pizza hut today and happened to chance upon a brochure at the counter pertaining to food relief
so while waiting for my takeaway,
read through the brochure and told myself instantly that i must help to donate!
it's the World Food Prog by a few organizations if im not wrong, including UN.
read through all the facts and immediately sympathized with the needy.
furthermore it's related to Geog so i can apply my knowledge and even use this as an example in my exam! LOL. i was reading the brochure while picking up examples and figures too. its useful!
so you see, we can apply our studies knowledge to our lives ya?
that's where we really learned and applied, we don't study just for the knowledge right?
plus since we've learnt about the United nations world food prog in the food chapter, i'm even more interested in learning more bout them and feel really glad that it really exists and i can play my part as a geog student!
so got home and went to the website and donated US 50 dollars !
though it's not a huge amount, but i hope it'll help many people out there,

today wasn't very productive but instead a relieving day.
had tuition in library just like last week
made a hectic plan for the whole day to accomplish but only like 1/4 was done
had a 3 hour talk with my tutor in the library!
it wasn't really a heart-to-heart talk .. maybe a lil'
but we talked about almost everything! for the whole 3 hours
i felt i had so many things to say
never really had such chances to just speak my thoughts
we talk about things from uni life, jc and secondary school to ghost stories to ns camp to iluminati to satan to our lives and all
really felt relieved after all that
cracked some jokes though couldn't laugh hard in the lib but still i laughed till tears fell
feels so good knowing that i haven't really had any social life for a long time

and my tutor made me rethink : does it really matter whether you get into a good jc or not?
it's still a jc, and if you can study, you can. if you can't, then you can't

Why are Singaporeans too stressed to care?

An article in Monday’s edition of The Straits Times entitled “S’poreans – too stressed to care?” gave me serious food for thought.

Its writer, Radha Basu, highlights how, despite the country’s technological prowess and generally high living standards, Singapore still falls short when it comes to basic human kindness such as donating time and money and caring for one another.

I read with shock when the writer gave two such examples — one in which fellow diners at an Ang Mo Kio food court took a whole hour before noticing that a 50-something-old man seated amongst them had died, and how a woman who had collapsed, frothing at the mouth, near Marsiling MRT station received little help from passers-by.

The article also shared how Singapore ranked 91 out of 153 nations in the World Giving Index (WGI) released last week. Singaporeans also averaged $48 in per capita donations last year, while the US hovered around $1,000. Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US topped the poll.

Another telling statistic was how a study revealed that Singaporeans spend 55 times as much time on leisure activities than they do on volunteering compared to 14 times for Americans.

I would like to further extend the discussion by asking the fundamental question of why are Singaporeans too stressed to care?

Could it be that the answer lies that Singaporeans are simply too caught up in their own frenetic lives to bother about others? Could it be that, with people being the only resource in this tiny country of ours, we are being maximised, body, mind and soul, to the fullest to meet and fulfil the economic needs of this country?

For example, to save cost, why hire more when one person can be retrained to up productivity and do the work of three? Why waste the potential of the elderly when we can increase the retirement age or have no retirement age at all?

My own personal view is that in pursuit of economic success, Singapore has, sadly, forgotten how to care for its neglected and disadvantaged. For better or worse, the government’s policies have, directly or indirectly, succeeded in churning out self-centred individuals who prioritize monetary wealth and status above all else.

The mindset that has been ingrained in our minds since primary and secondary school — with streaming, school and class rankings, ECAs, tuition and enrichment classes — is that to live in Singapore, getting ahead and staying ahead of the competition is key. Money, success and the 5 ‘C’ s will then follow.

And because time equates money, it will be a waste of time to help others who might have tripped down the stairs, or to stop and help a fellow commuter through an MRT train door. With barely enough time for one’s tired self, how to volunteer time for others on weekends?

From my own personal experience as a student, I confess that the pressure to excel in my studies caused me to block out all else. The only thing that mattered for me was getting good grades so I could land a job and forge a career that would pay well. Volunteerism? Bah, no time.

What about the mandatory CIP (Community Involvement Programme) at secondary and junior college level? I contend that it’s merely an avenue for the majority of students to get into the school’s good books for future admission to top schools and tertiary institutions.

Still, is being less caring and generous a symptom of Singapore’s time-starved society or does it apply to the wider Asian context too?

A friend from Brunei, Fatin Arrifin, 26, said, “We Bruneians are caring and helpful owing to our laid-back and easy-going lifestyles. We are known by tourists to be very hospitable. I think it also has much to do with our strong family ties.”

“Through all my travels, I notice that we Bruneians are not as calculative about money as compared to our other ASEAN friends,” he said.

A fellow colleague of mine, Karen Vera, who’s in her 30s and comes from the Philippines, said, “Filipinos avoid being rude at all costs because being rude reflects that you had a poor family upbringing and that you come from a family with bad manners.”

Having lived in Singapore for the past two years, she noticed Singaporeans “tend to rely on the government too much for direction and initiative” even when it comes to basic human courtesies like saying “please” and “thank you”.

Ken Tran, a Vietnamese national in his 20s, said, “Generally speaking, Vietnamese are actually nice people. They will assist those who ask for it.”

However, having lived in Singapore for the past 4 years, he found that Singaporeans are generally considerate.

“In every society, you have the considerate and the not-so-considerate people. But I have no issues with the manners of Singaporeans,” he said.

In spite of my observations, I do see a glimmer of hope.

The government is realising, perhaps belatedly, that to have tall, shiny new buildings dotting the city skyline amounts to nothing if its people don’t have the generosity and kindness to match.

As Acting Minister of the Information, Communication and the Arts Lui Tuck Yew said last month, “Only then can we fully proclaim we have moved from Third Word to First World”.

I also realise to label all Singaporeans as uncaring and rude would be unfair.

You only need to look at the generous outpouring of donations by average Singaporeans during the 2004 Huang Na murder case or shining examples of philantropists like Creative chairman Sim Wong Hoo or UOB chairman Wee Cho Yaw to realise generous spirits do exist – but they are too few and far in between.

At the end of the day, what kind of Singapore do we want for ourselves?

A society that continues to place more emphasis on productivity and competition so as to fuel the country’s ever-higher growth targets — which, I might add, inadvertently leads to lower fertility rates and less caring but more tired citizens?

Or, a cultured society that places importance on softer skills like human grace and compassion and the ability to balance both work and family?

At the end of the day, I believe Singapore cannot have both.

sigh, so what if we study so much and have all the knowledge and get impressive grades for o's if in the end, we study to become self-centred ?
so what if we're very educated but lack all the soft skills like compassion and generous hearts?
if that's the case, study = bullshit and useless, and it'll be a waste of our time and money.

when can people start appreciating things around them, and stop taking things for granted?

i was browsing through youtube and suddenly had the urge to listen to all the past ndp songs
and had a great time singing along haha
really love the ndp songs though i really wonder why there are so many accusations of the songs
why must people be so against them seriously
if they can't produce better music, why talk so much
at least appreciate people's effort to come up with the songs, and the artiste who sang them,
if people asked them to sing, can they sing? do they have the talent?
how would they feel if they were the ones on the stage, with people throwing bananas at them
spouting all their accusations at them
if they have that ability, they can produce better music, they can sing better, then i have nothing to say

kids nowadays ....
it was so tense in the theatre today that it could have gotten into a fight. a bunch of undisciplined kids in the theatre were laughing and talking like they own the theatre. even when the whole theatre was "shhhh-inng" they still continued and screamed "shut up" at each other. the people behind got so pissed that a guy scolded vulgarities and screamed at them to shut up. when they didn't care, a girl in front stood up and showed her fist, saying " laugh somemore, talk somemore" then another girl at the back totally shouted "you think you own the theatre ah" in chinese. they raged. others at the side asked them to shut up. so three girls went out to get the staff to silence them. a simple "please keep quiet" and he went out. that bunch of kids went out before the movie ended. and you know what? they actually had the guts to complain that someone scolded them vulgarities.
anyway, if you don't really have the urge to watch aftershock, dont watch it.
watch salt, its good.
maybe good isn't convincing enough,

I'd choose to live in my own world, for the time being.

I asked mr tan for advice, that how do i manage my time.
He says he thinks i'm too careful.
and yes, i know i am, shouldn't i be?
He also said maybe i'm a perfectionist.

but unfortunately, he says i have to change that,

What papers have i completed? (excluding e math and english, but chinese i also never complete)

I admit my time management is bad, and i have to work on it.
but i can't help but think that time is determining my grades rather than my abilities.
it's not that i can't do the paper, seriously.
i know how to do it, except for some of course.
but if i have more time, i can do it.
what's wrong with wanting to give my best to all my answers?
i just want to perfect the answers so there's zero chance of losing unnecessary marks.
i just want to answer it with my best effort.
i thought we're supposed to just do our best?
now i'm doing that, and my marks/other question have to be sacrificed.

they should make exams with no time limit ( i don't mean forever obviously, like just put a maximum time students can take? )

i've been binge eating on bananas this 2 days!
hahahhahha i'm different from the others!
people drink caffeine to perk themselves up, but my stimulant is banana!
i've had 3 bananas yesterday, and another 3 today! LOL.
i'm still considering eating the 4th one but i'm afraid it'll lead to side effects!
so, i set aside some time to do my favourite ... research! haha.

It is possible to get too much posassium from bananas, and it could throw off a person's saline (salt) level, since the two work together.

If the sodium gets to low and the potassium too high, it throws off the human electrolyte system, and can cause problems from mild gastrointestinal problems to kidney problems, to severe cardiac problems (cardiac arrest-death if) if the NA (sodium) gets too low (below 120 for too long) and the K+ (potassium) gets too high. (above 7-7.5).

The safest thing to do is eat foods in moderation, and have a good variety of different foods.
